Confessions of an ex-fitness fanatic

Bodybuilding

Hi. My name’s Mum and I’m an ex-fitness fanatic.
All: Hi Mum (sympathetic smiles from the group)
Leader: Welcome to the group Mum. Are you ready to share?
Well, I, ahem, I used to go to the gym at least five times a week.
(Heads nodding in agreement)
My exercise of choice was… spinning cycle classes.
(Gasps)
Leader: It’s ok Mum, we’ve all got our poison here. Please, continue.
Well, it started out innocently enough, I’d go maybe once a week, I told myself I didn’t have to go, but then I saw the effect it was having on my figure and my mood and so I started doing a second class and a third and then before I knew it I had my own spinning shoes and a padded seat cover!
Leader: You’re among friends here. When did you last take an exercise class?
My last class was over two years ago now.
(Claps from the group)
But…. I LOVED those classes! Heart pounding, legs pumping, adrenaline flowing, music beating all around us…. oh god I miss it so much! Yoga just isn’t enough! Ahhhhh I can’t take it any more!!!
(Gets carried out of room sobbing)
