My last post in 2014 – Happy Christmas!
Yesterday I sat in the reception at Centre for Sight waiting for my laser eye surgery. This time next week I should be able to see without glasses.
It was my second surgery in two days. On Monday a lovely plastic surgeon repaired my fractured hand. I now have a plate and four metal pins holding my broken bones together, a funky purple sling protecting my heavily bandaged cast…
…and an even cooler fashion accessory to wear at night!
Today is Christmas Eve.
This isn’t what I’d planned. I don’t want to spend Christmas in bed. I don’t want to miss the joy on little faces as the magic of this special time crescendos.
In this post I mentioned a shift in my mindset.
A shift away from negative. A shift towards positive. A shift towards daily JOY.
It’s a challenge right now. But I’m determined to meet it head on.
There might have to be less playing, less cuddling, less staying at relatives, less rough-and-tumble play.
But I’m determined Christmas will still be Christmas.
And so this is my last post until the New Year as I take the time to recover, to focus on what’s important, to spend time with my gorgeous, supportive family, to make plans and to take those first steps towards 2015.
This has been an amazing year. I’ve worked with fantastic brands including John Lewis, Noom, James Villas, The Body Shop, My 1st Years, Sugru, Hartley’s and so many more!
I’m honoured to have been nominated in the MAD blog awards and shortlisted in the Brit Mums Brilliance in Blogging awards.
And I’ve had the privilege and pleasure of getting to know the most incredibly talented and supportive group of bloggers – Vicki, Katie, Zaz, Hannah, Tinuke, Sophie, Mirka – love you ladies!
I have exciting plans for next year that I can’t wait to get stuck into! But in the meantime I wish all my fabulous readers a wonderful Happy Christmas and New Year – thank you for reading and commenting here at Bod for tea x
It has been a real pleasure getting to know you better this year, and I’m so amazed by how upbeat you are, even when life hits you hard. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and I can’t wait to catch up with you soon hopefully xx

I hope you are recovering well and had a lovely festive time even though it wasn’t how you would ideally want it to be. I’ve heard that laser eye surgery is life-changing, so I hope it is so for you. All the best for a fab 2015! x
